I would describe myself as a vocational doctor. As far as I can remember from my childhood, my dream was not to be a doctor; rather it was to bring children into the world. Firstly I made it come true in the delivery room, where I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and now before conception.
I am one of those who believes that while the end result is essential, it is not the only thing that matters. That is why I have always defined Barcelona IVF as a philosophical programme because, when we started it, we gave up many amenities in trying to fulfil our dream of successfully performing the medicine we like.

I truly believe that assisted reproduction should be like this, a strange combination of idealism whilst keeping our feet on the ground. The speed in which we acquire knowledge is dizzying and this leads to our results improving; however, we must of course always try to ensure that the entire process is worth it, without losing sight of the fact that our end goal is to fulfil the dreams of those that trust us.

I always wanted to be a doctor and to this day I can say that I feel very fortunate to be able to be one. For me, human contact with my patients and making them feel supported in their search for something as sought after as a pregnancy is very important.
The specialty of gynaecology and assisted reproduction in particular allows you to experience wonderful moments, such as the birth of a child. Not everyone can start a family easily and sometimes the journey is long and difficult. Advising them and being able to help them during the process is why my job makes perfect sense.

Besides my job, my family and friends are the essential cornerstones of my life. I enjoy making the most of the time I spend with them. Over the years, my children have taught me to value each and every little thing. Travelling is another one of my passions: discovering other cultures, sharing different experiences and being able to remember them afterwards is exciting.

I always knew that I wanted to be a doctor and, from the moment I discovered the field of fertility and human reproduction, I knew that I would devote to it. It is an exciting speciality that allows me to experience great moments with patients. Being able to share the excitement at the start of the process, to overcome all the difficulties that may arise together and to finally experience the joy when they are able to have a child, makes this job incomparable.

My favourite part of each day is going into the clinic and seeing all the people that are waiting. Knowing that all these people are here because they trust us is my biggest source of motivation, as well as a huge responsibility that compels us to be better every day.

Biography:
My dream was always to be a doctor; when my friends played with toys, I used to heal dolls. I cannot imagine practicing any other profession that is not linked to medicine. When I finished my training as a gynaecologist, I was lucky to learn more on assisted reproduction, which opened a new world to me when I saw how two small cells can help us achieve the greatest dream of all: having a child.

The aspiration of having a child involves a very significant emotional toll on patients, therefore I do not think it is enough for them to have a good professional in front of them, who relies upon the best laboratory and latest technology; they also need to feel understood and supported throughout this process.

At Barcelona IVF, I am able to work with a great team and an excellent laboratory with the best technology for achieving the best possible results; I am glad to share the same goal with the rest of my colleagues: trying to provide, at all times, each patient with all they require to fulfil their dream of having a child.

My medical vocation dates back to kindergarten: I used to spend break times wrapping arms, fingers and applying sticking plasters on everyone who would let me do it. I am passionate about medicine and consider myself extremely lucky to be able to dedicate myself to it. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose exactly the same.
Working at Barcelona IVF allows me to develop different aspects of my specialty, such as care and teaching. I like checking in with the patient. I believe that each patient is a world that must be individualised to adapt to the needs of each one.

I am also passionate about education and it gives me great pleasure to pass on my knowledge to the different groups that we offer courses to, such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and assistants, amongst others.

Biography:
I have always been interested in medicine with the aim of helping people. I chose the speciality of obstetrics and gynaecology as it involves the life and well-being of two patients simultaneously and this was a great challenge for me.
I think assisted reproduction is one of the most interesting fields in medicine and much still remains to be learnt and investigated. I started my training in assisted reproduction at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital but then I became part of the medical team at Barcelona IVF, where I trained in good practice and professionalism, as well as in supporting patients on the often arduous way to becoming mothers and fathers.

For me, the biggest success is not only when patients become pregnant, but also when they experience and remember the entire process as a pleasant journey to fulfilling their dream, and this is possible at Barcelona IVF.

I have always wanted to be a doctor, ever since I was a child. It was a “vocational” choice in the true sense of the word. I have always enjoyed studying and I heard a voice inside me telling me to become a doctor.

When I started my medicine degree, I was not sure about what I wanted to specialise in. Paediatrics – being a children’s doctor – was attractive, but the human and social aspects of psychiatry were also very appealing. Biology had always fascinated me. When, at the end of my degree course, I started studying gynaecology, I fell in love! And particularly when I started studying assisted reproduction. That was my path! To see life developing from one cell, the laboratory technology, thinking about diagnosis and treatment, and the miracle of life that never ceases to surprise us!
Personally, professional success is obviously to give the joy of a baby to the couples I treat, to receive photographs of smiling children, but also to provide relief with my words during the many difficult moments of the assisted procreation process. When I enter the clinic, the most important thing for me is to give my best to couples, to treat each of them in the most professional, human and personal manner. Barcelona IVF is a clinic that values the human aspect, which is exactly what allows me to be the professional I strive to be!
